Atomic Swaps
Atomic Swaps are a decentralized method that allows the direct exchange of cryptocurrencies between two parties across different blockchains without the need for a centralized exchange or intermediary. They use smart contracts, specifically hash time-locked contracts (HTLCs), to ensure that both parties fulfill their part of the transaction simultaneously. If either party fails to complete their side of the trade within a specified time frame, the transaction is automatically canceled, ensuring security and trustlessness. Atomic swaps enhance interoperability between different blockchain networks, enabling seamless peer-to-peer trading while maintaining full control over funds.
